Archipelago
Brumadinho, MG, Brazil 2024Archipelago Project emerges in Brumadinho, near Inhotim, as a proposal that integrates architecture, nature, art, and well-being. Inspired by the concept of islands and archipelagos, the development creates spaces of refuge and contemplation, where privacy and community coexist in balance. Embedded within the Atlantic Forest landscape, the project embraces a slower lifestyle connected to nature, time, and human relationships. The proposal reflects the contemporary spirit of slow living through a contemporary Minas Gerais architecture defined by simplicity, warmth, and a deep connection with the natural surroundings. Its organic urban design, composed of circular plots and flowing pathways, promotes a more harmonious occupation of the territory. Vegetation replaces walls, enhancing the permeability of the landscape and strengthening the relationship between architecture and nature. Lakes, trails, and green areas structure the development and reinforce the sensory and contemplative experience of the spaces. Arquipélago also incorporates sustainable solutions focused on low-emission mobility, renewable energy, and natural water management. The environmental strategy proposes a biofilic and permeable landscape, integrating reforestation, ecological corridors, functional gardens, and bioengineering solutions. The village experience is complemented by a series of collective spaces dedicated to leisure, culture, gastronomy, and wellness. A club, spa, equestrian center, restaurants, café & bookstore, art studios, galleries, and contemplative spaces strengthen the proposal of a community connected to art, botany, and human interaction. Archipelago proposes a new way of living: a place where architecture, landscape, and sensibility come together to create a legacy of art, nature, and well-being.
