BH STATION

The Belo Horizonte Station is inserted in a point of great urbanistic relevance in the city center, next to the Station Square, the Arts and Crafts Museum, the Saint Tereza Viaduct, the Bus Station and the Municipal Park, which consolidate this region as a leisure and culture pole. For these characteristics, it has the vocation to be more than an interurban equipment, but an attractive center of new uses. The station is intended to be self-sufficient and to have qualities of public space, capable of encouraging the permanence and enjoyment by the population, allowing new appropriations and becoming a new milestone.

To increase the commodity, it was proposed the expansion of the platform, as well as the implantation of a drive for the boarding and deboarding of passengers with new taxi spaces. Is also expected a reformation on the universal access of the station, renting a universal accessibility ramp, protected by a glass railing and a new staircase for the pedestrians access.

The main hall will be simultaneously an entrance, circulation and permanence space, capable of optimizing the fluxes and articulating the other spaces of the building. While not a controlled area, it includes facilities for public use, such as the ticket office, the information desk, the toilets and a large free space for installation of exhibitions. In the hall adjacencies, a café and a food court will be installed .

The departure lounge, in turn, corresponds to the controlled area of the station: in this space it is foreseen a space of greater permanence of the users, being the premise of the project, the provision of furniture and the air conditioning for greater comfort at the time of boarding and transhipment of passengers.

In the second pavement, hubs with meeting rooms, flexible workstations and living areas for the company’s employees, as well as collaborative hubs for station management were installed.
